Jasper Place Library

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, the Jasper Place Library is designed to encompass the Edmonton Public Library's aspirations to create a flexible, open and memorable presence in the community. The reconstruction of the Library will make it a state-of-the-art sustainable facility, and will increase its size from 11,000 sq. ft. to 15,000 sq. ft.

Keeping with the future expectations of reading materials progressively moving toward electronic formats, the library allocates much of 15,000 sq. ft. to social spaces rather than physical books. The uniquely designed exterior, particularly the innovative concrete roof, define the space apart from the surrounding Meadowlark community in Edmonton, capturing attention and making it a highlight of the community, and Edmonton as a whole.
