MacDonald Island

Located in Fort McMurray, the MacDonald Island Redevelopment is one of the most significant resident enrichment projects in the City's history. This state-of-the-art facility is encompasses many unique features, including a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities and the new Fort McMurray Public Library. With a primary emphasis on family and community-oriented programs and activities, the centre is affordable and accessible.

MacDonald Island officially opened its doors to the community in September 2010. The multipurpose facility boasts an NHL size arena and two indoor soccer pitches. In addition, a waterpark, 50m swimming pool, administration offices and a 52,000 ft² library accommodate a wide variety of patrons.
